From Farm to Table

Where does food come from?  How do we make burgers?  Where does the burger bread come from?  How do we grow vegetables?

Following the last 2 months where we have taught children about seeds, plants and trees, this month’s theme, From Farm to Table will bring children to Kota Damansara Community Forest where children will learn about the basics of food and its origin.  There will be a little hike into the forest for children to learn about the different types of edible and non edible plants.  Children will than get to do some planting which they can bring it home to grow and we will finish off the program with some basic cooking.

Objective of this program are as follow:

1. Encourage children to engage, explore, experiment, analyse and experience 
2. Encourage children the ability to build and develop their critical thinking skills, where they would need to learn to make decisions and problem solve.
3. Encourage children to build their understanding on the origins of the food that they eat and the importance of food.
